The Oscars this week really showed how music and film cannot live without each other. Several live performances really showcased this. The show opened up with Janelle Monae performing several hits from movies of this past year. She is a phenomenal entertainer and it was really seen live here. After sever awards Eminem came out and performed one of his classic hits  that was apart of his biopic '8 Mile'. It has been a while since we have seen Eminem perform live and he did a great job. In support of a movie based on his life, Sir Elton John performed several of his hits to close off the show. All these live performances, it goes without showing that film and music must coexist to both succeed.
